Student's #Cyberbullying Filmmaking project documentation and gallery #artsed #film #myr

My students have been working very hard on creating their music videos about Cyber Bullying.

They collaborated on Edmodo, used Open Office to write their scripts and Storyboarded with Storypages.

We also had a lot of fun playing a day of acting games to get into character

I think we are running out of steam now as some of the students are getting disruptive or tired of shooting the same stuff - so I am hoping that they can start editing their project soon using WeVideo once they have everything synced with Dropbox.

8th grade art career interviews #artsed #edchat #education

After my students completed their individual art career research (you can read more about it on a previous Posterous page HERE) I invited Mrs. Foxworth, our BWMS career specialist, to come to the art room and run some scenarios about doing a job interview.

PS - You can also download the Ebook of the students' work that shows off their knowledge of Art careers by going to the ePubBud site

After Mrs. Foxworth ran through what the students should do during a job interview and other guidelines, the students got to role play some scenarios as well. Check them out and try to figure out who is doing the "bad" job interview and who is doing the "good" job interview

chk it @NAEA @Think360Arts @TADartists 8th grade Pop Art work & tiedye #lessonplan in #myr #artsed

After watching the Beatles' Yellow Submarine film, my 8th graders at Black Water Middle School learned about the Pop Artist Peter Max.

In the past, I have had my students draw contour sketches of bodies and fill them in, but the students seem to find it more engaging when they can do a life size sketch and fill in a total of twenty-four patterns inside the body. Unfortunately, I was low on paint this year to let them color in bodies.

There were also a few students that were able to bring in their own white t-shirt that could by tie dyed, and show off inspiration of 1960's culture. All the while listening to the greatest hits of the 1960's such as The Beatles, The Beach Boys and Motown.
